Emily goes zorbing

How cool is this? A short while ago I had some tickets to go zorbing and couldn’t get there before the deadline on the tickets. I tweeted them in a first come, first served free zorbing ticket offer – thinking people wouldn’t want them in case it was a scam.

Emily M was the first to reply and off went the tickets. Well she went zorbing:

and she tweeted this: “@PhilTerrett – We went zorbing on Saturday – was SO much fun!!!! Thanks so much again for the tickets. Hope you had a good weekend?”

Some days being human is just fine:) Hashtag that.

And I got to use a mattock!

Just got interested in guerilla gardening, or perhaps I should more accurately say semi-guerilla gardening. In our case this is where we see a neglected piece of land around a local park and fix it, but with the unofficial permission of the local council (thanks guys). We got sick of looking at a small area of ground at the start of our park where an old Hawthorn tree was overrun by brambles. They were encroaching across the path and we were a little worried for some of the less sure-footed local residents.

It started like this:

And went through this:

To become this: (dog not included)

Shortly after this the area was grassed, but we have plans for spring plantings – watch this space for more. Richard Reynolds would have been proud, and I got to use a mattock!

It’s a start (he says)

Here we go – people have been asking who I am, rather than what I do so I figured it was time to start a personal blog, nothing to do with my work so you can see what kind of person I am.

I can tell you who I am, but stay around and find out for yourselves…..welcome & let's talk and have some fun.
