So here is an interesting dilemma and I’d appreciate your advice.
In amongst all of the online stuff we all do, I actually enjoy writing letters (real letters, pen, ink, envelopes, stamps – you get the picture). So I’m asking online how you think I could go about getting an old fashioned pen-pal, one who would like to communicate only by letter. Male or Female, no agenda, letters that I could happily show my wife if she asked etc etc.
Am I bonkers? Is it possible to still do this? Do such people still exist? Do you know anyone, English speaking (writing), anywhere in the world?
Or am I too late………

Hi Phil
I used to have a Phillipino pen pal. This is by no means the climax of the story.
I was put in touch with the pen pal by winning a Live and Kicking competition, aged 8. I was the winner in a drawing competition – I drew a picture of Mr Blobby. The competition was for those aged 10 and over.
I would say winning the competition was about 6 out of 10 on the difficulty scale, but then I always have had a natural talent for creativity.
The sad part of the story is that my name and picture were shown on TV – but I wasn’t watching. I don’t believe we owned a TV at the time.
My offer to you is that if you find me the clip from the BBC archives so I can watch my name and picture shown, then maybe I will help you draw a new picture and we will enter it into a pen pal competition.
As you know I have an excellent track record.
Best Wishes
